The Social Positivists

the society for the advancement of positive knowledge

First Principles

Social Positivists subscribe to three principles, Autonomy, Subsidiarity, and Positivity. These three principles are based on the principle of verifiability. The principle of verifiability is a First Principle meaning it is the standard which legitimizes all that The Social Positivists subscribe to, for example the three secondary principles given here.

Verifiability is the idea that all beliefs must be authenticated or verified by a demonstration the idea is reproducible.

Anyone can put their hand in a fire and prove fire burns. How do we authenticate the claim autonomy is a basic right?

A claim can also be authenticated by unanimous consent, that is if there is no opposition the proposition is legitimized by the lack of dissent.

Autonomy, subsidiarity and positivity are verified and therefore are suitable for extracting other propositions from.

Autonomy is the principle that no cost can be downloaded onto society and future generations. No one is duty bound to pay costs created by others nor can others impose on anyone a cost that was not created by the payee.

Subsidiarity is an organizing principle that states matters ought to be handled by the smallest, lowest or least centralized competent authority.

Political decisions should be taken at a local level if possible, rather than by a central authority. (Wikipedia).

This we believe includes ownership, our statement on ownership is based on Direct ownership.

  • Direct ownership of local resources by locals; no ownership of local resources by non-locals.
  • The systematic elimination of ownership of local resources by non-locals using direct markets and direct funding.

Positivity is a commitment to positive values. Social Positives believe science-based solutions must be used to solve our social problems.

Positivism is the view that the only authentic knowledge is scientific knowledge, and that such knowledge can only come from positive affirmation of theories through strict scientific method In simple terms our beliefs, ideas and solutions must be based on verifiable facts using a quantified standard of comparison, so that disagreements can be settled by the data rather than emotion.

Social Positivists believe Progressivism is an emotion charged position that has increasingly sought to divorce our political, religions and economic choices from hard science.
